Program Manager, NYC area

Are you interested in furthering your career in team leadership and program management? Our client, a global aerospace company, has an immediate need for a skilled program manager to join their greater NYC area team. In this position, you will work cross-functionally to develop and ensure programs are structured, completed and delivered in accordance with customer requirements. If you have at least 3 years of experience as a program, team or project leader working in an engineering and manufacturing environment this is the position for you! Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, ME, Manufacturing preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in Team Management, or Sales and/or Engineering
  • PMP certified highly preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, engineering documentation, government regulations, qualification and testing reports, etc.
  • Ability to write and present business reports and correspondence.
  • Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles, design processes, and documentation systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical cables, components, specifications, drawings, qualification, and testing highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, math, algebra and geometry.
  • Expert decision making capabilities, based upon organizational functions, resource availability, process mapping, and cost effectiveness.
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets and commitments.

Program Management Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish overall development program plan/schedule of new products or changes
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, QA, and Sales to ensure planning and progress are on schedule
  • Maintain the profitability of the program and monitor cost reduction plans
  • Highlight areas needing improvement, and monitor outcomes
  • Provide weekly updates including functional design, costs, scope, pricing, content, changes, delivery, documentation, and supplier performance
  • Ensure policies and documentation are followed by all stakeholders throughout the entire project life cycles
  • Identify and correct systemic flaws and performance
  • Review and maintain contractual requirements
  • Flag changes in internal processes to highlight resources needed
  • Establish a clear understanding of the Statement of Work internally and the customer’s organization
  • Participate in contractual negotiations in coordination with the Sales department and legal
  • Support RFP phase, and changes from internal and external parties
